Applicable Models

All models

Problem Description

  1. After clicking "Forgot Password" on the TOS login page, entering the email address but never receiving the verification code email;
  2. Or entering the password prompts an error, and unable to recover the password via email.

Solution

This issue is usually caused by incorrect email configuration, email being intercepted, or account type restrictions. Please follow the steps below based on your account type.

For Super User (The first user created after initialization)

If the super user forgets the password and the email configuration is incorrect, you can only resolve this by initializing the system. General steps are as follows:

  1. Turn off your TNAS device;
  2. Remove all hard drives/SSDs;
  3. Turn on your TNAS;
  4. Wait about 2 minutes until the network indicator lights up, then use TNAS PC to search for your TNAS device;
  5. Clear browser cache;
  6. Select the device and click "Login" to go to the "Initialization" page;
  7. When "No hard drive detected" is displayed, keep the NAS powered on and insert the hard drive.
  8. Follow the instructions on the webpage to install a new TOS system.

Special Model Instructions

Some models may have slightly different initialization steps due to the system being installed on M.2 SSD or different hardware design. Please refer to the corresponding links below:

If you are using the above models, it is recommended to first consult the dedicated guides in the corresponding links.

For Regular Administrators and Regular Users

Please contact the TNAS administrator to perform the following operations:

1. Verify Your Security Email

The administrator should go to Control Panel > Users, find your account and click Edit, ensuring the "Security Email" field contains your currently available email address. If modification is needed, update and save.

2. Reset Password

Self-reset: After completing the above setup, you can click "Forgot Password" on the login page, receive the verification code via the security email, and set a new password yourself.
Administrator-assisted reset: If unable to reset via email, you can also ask the administrator to set a new password for you directly in the user editing interface.

Note

If regular users have not enabled the email password reset function, please ask the administrator to log in to TOS, go to Control Panel > Users, and in the settings, confirm that "Allow non-admin users to reset password via email when they forget password" is checked. If not checked, please check it and save.
