USB Devices

You can connect USB storage devices to the USB host interface of TNAS to expand the storage space of TNAS.


Management and Operations

Through the function configuration buttons, you can perform the following operations:

  • Format: Format the external USB storage device into EXT4 or FAT32 file system.
  • Safe Ejection: Safely eject the USB device to prevent data damage.
  • Encrypt: Encrypt the external USB storage device (after encryption, the device cannot be read on other devices).
  • Export Key: Export and save the key to your computer (for restoring access if the password is lost).
  • Mount: When reinserting an encrypted USB device, mounting is required to access it.
  • Permissions: Set access permissions for user groups on the USB device.
  • Note

    Encryption will first format the device into the ext4 file system, then perform encryption.
