System

Updates

When a new system version is available, you can view the update content and version number on the "System" page, and follow the prompts to upgrade online. This ensures TNAS stays up-to-date, with better performance, security, and feature support.

Management & Operations

  • Auto Check and Download Updates: The system automatically checks for new versions every 24 hours. If an available update is found, it will be downloaded automatically, ensuring you get the latest features and security patches in a timely manner.
  • Manual Update: Supports manual upload of update package files, suitable for offline environments or scenarios requiring specific version control.
  • Check for Updates Now: Manually trigger an update check to determine in real time if there is an available update version.

Configuration

You can perform backup, restore, and reset operations on the current system to ensure configuration security or restore the system to a normal state.

Management & Operations

  • Backup System Configuration: Save the current system configuration information as a backup file. In case of misoperations, configuration loss, or configuration clearance after system updates, you can quickly restore the original settings by restoring the backup.
  • Restore System Configuration: Import a saved configuration file to restore the system to the state it was in when the backup was created. Suitable for configuration migration or fault recovery scenarios.
  • Reset System Configuration: Clear all system configurations and restore the system to the default state after initial setup. All settings will be erased, and you need to re-create an administrator account and perform initial configurations.

Factory Settings

Your TNAS will be restored to its factory default state. Current system settings and application configurations will all be cleared, and system partitions will be removed—you need to reinstall the system. Note that data partitions on the disks and their stored data will not be affected.

Developer Mode

Developer Mode is only for advanced users with technical backgrounds. After enabling it, TOS kernel permissions will be unlocked, and security restrictions on unknown software will be removed. However, this may bring risks such as security vulnerabilities, system damage, and data leakage. Please operate with caution.

Note
  1. After enabling this feature, the TOS system may face risks such as security vulnerabilities, system damage, and data leakage. Please operate with caution.
  2. Official technical support services will no longer be provided for TNAS devices with this feature enabled.
