Tasks

Manage Tasks

Each backup task for shared folders can be customized, and tasks can be managed to facilitate file backup. On the task page, you can perform the following operations:

  1. Create: Establish a new backup task.
  2. Edit: Modify selected tasks, adjusting settings such as:
Scheduled Task: Change the task's recurring schedule.
File Filtering: Adjust maximum file size limits and file formats to include/exclude.
  3. Start/Stop: Initiate or halt tasks.
  4. Delete: Remove selected backup tasks.
  5. Disable/Enable: Activate or deactivate selected backup tasks.

How to Create a Backup Task

  1. Click the "Create" icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Set general task information: task name, backup mode, backup source, and backup destination.
  3. Select the backup mode:
    Mirror Mode
    Incremental Mode
  4. Configure the task execution schedule:
    • Execute the task immediately.
    • Set a recurring schedule: specify period, time, and interval.
  5. Set file filtering:
    • Define maximum backup file size.
    • Specify file formats to include/exclude.

Backup Modes
  • Mirror Mode: Each time the task runs, all changes in the source folder are copied to the destination, creating a complete mirror replica of the source folder in the destination. Any changes in the source folder are replicated to the destination, ensuring that the destination mirrors the source completely.
  • Incremental Mode: After the initial full backup, subsequent backups only include files that have been added or modified since the last backup. When new or modified files are detected in the source, they are backed up to the destination. If a file with the same name exists in the destination, it will be overwritten by the new file. Deleted files in the source folder are not removed from the destination.
