USB Device
To guarantee uninterrupted and stable operation, a hot spare disk is an auxiliary disk that will automatically take over following the failure of any disk within the storage pool. For optimal performance and compatibility, it is advisable to select a hot spare disk of the same model as the existing disks in the storage pool. The capacity of the hot spare disk should be at least equal to the smallest member disk in the storage pool. If the storage pool uses a TRAID or TRAID+ array type, the capacity of the hot spare disk should be at least equal to the largest member disk in the storage pool.
Management
Through the buttons in the management tab, you can perform the following operations:
- Create: Create a hot spare disk;
- Edit: Assign the hot spare disk to the available storage pool;
- Delete: Remove the created hot spare disk;
Note
- When creating a hot spare disk, the data on the selected disk will be deleted.
- The capacity of the hot spare disk should be at least equal to the smallest member disk in the storage pool. However, if your storage pool uses the TRAID or TRAID+ array type, the capacity of the hot spare disk should be at least equal to the largest member disk in the storage pool.
