File System Snapshots

File System Snapshots is an efficient data management feature that enables rapid backup and restoration operations, effectively copes with data corruption risks, safeguards data security, and brings unprecedented convenience and security to data management.

Enabling and Configuring File System Snapshots

  1. Navigate to TOS Desktop > Backup > File System Snapshots > Settings.
  2. Check the box labeled "Enable File System Snapshots."
  3. Specify the "Storage Location" and set the "Maximum Number of Snapshots."
  4. Configure the "Retention Policy."
  5. Schedule snapshot creation using "Period," "Time," and "Frequency" settings.
  6. Click "Apply."
Note

Storage Location: Customize the name of the snapshot folder.
Maximum Number of Snapshots: Defines the maximum allowed snapshots.
Retention Policy: Specifies actions when exceeding the snapshot limit.

Operation Management

  • Take Snapshot Now: Instantly capture a filesystem snapshot.
  • Restore: Restore the filesystem to a previous snapshot.
  • Delete: Remove the selected snapshot.
  • Delete All: Clear all snapshots.
  • Lock: Prevent deletion by locking a snapshot.

How to Restore a Filesystem

  1. Go to TOS Desktop > Backup > File System Snapshots > Snapshot List.
  2. Select the volume and the desired snapshot for restoration.
  3. Click the "Restore" button.
  4. Wait for the restoration process to complete.
