The following table lists the statuses of TNAS displayed in TNAS PC and their corresponding meanings. Please refer to this list when performing various operations.
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| ...... | The application is checking the connection status. |
| Ready | The device is installed and ready for use. Double-click the device or click Login to access it. |
| Unconfigured | The initial TOS configuration (i.e., administrator password) after installation has not been completed. Please double-click TNAS to continue with the configuration. |
| Uninitialized | The device status shows "Uninitialized" in the following cases: no hard drive detected, TOS not installed, TOS system not detected on the hard drive, or the factory reset in the control panel has been clicked. Please ensure that the hard drive is in good condition, properly inserted, and detectable by TNAS. Double-click the server to start installing TOS. If TOS has been installed on the hard drive and the hard drive has been used for a period of time, this message indicates that the server cannot recognize the TOS data on the hard drive. |
| Online | The device is powered on and supports access. |
| Remote Access Unavailable | The device has not enabled remote access functionality. |
| Offline | The current device is offline, which may be due to several reasons: 1. The TNAS device is not powered on; 2. The TNAS device has abnormal network connection; 3. The TNAS device and computer are not in the same network segment; 4. Remote access service is not enabled or has abnormal enabling; 5. Access history is not updated, please try to refresh the page. |
Notes
- Examples of device addition input: · IP address, for example: 192.168.0.8 or 192.168.0.8:5443; · TNAS ID, for example: TonyTNAS; · URL domain name, for example: TonyTNASmynas.com or tonyTNASmynas.com:5443;
- The Wake on LAN function needs to be enabled first in TOS Control Panel > Hardware & Power > Power by checking "Wake on LAN (WOL)".
- If your network is set to DHCP mode, the Modify IP Address function only modifies the current IP of TNAS. When the device restarts, the router will reassign the device IP. If you want the device's IP to be fixed, please manually set the IP address in Control Panel > Network.
Does the New Version of TNAS PC Support Remote Access to Devices?
The new version of the TNAS PC application supports adding and remotely accessing your NAS by entering the TNAS ID or domain name through the Add Device function. Before remotely accessing a device, please enable TNAS Online or set up DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name Service).
Setting up TNAS.online- Please go to TOS Desktop > Remote Access > TNAS.online;
- Check "Enable TNAS.online remote access function";
- Enter "TNAS ID" and remember your TNAS ID. The TNAS ID is a unique ID bound to your TNAS device. If the ID you entered is already in use, please try another ID.
- Click "Apply".
- Go to TOS Desktop > Remote Access > DDNS;
- Click "Create";
- Select "Use an existing service provider";
- Please fill in the form with the information obtained when registering for the DDNS service;
- Click "Apply".
- When the TNAS settings menu shows "connected", it indicates that the DDNS setup is successful.
How to Wake Up a Device
When logging into a device, the TNAS PC application will confirm whether your TNAS device has enabled Wake on LAN (WOL). After shutdown, you can remotely wake up the device within the LAN by clicking " WOL " in the access history.
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| WOL | The device has not enabled the "Wake on LAN (WOL)" function. |
| WOL | The device is offline and can be remotely woken up within the LAN. |
| WOL | The device has enabled the "Wake on LAN (WOL)" function, but the device is currently running. |
| Waking up... | Attempting to wake up the device |
- Before using "Wake on LAN" in TNAS PC, please confirm that you have checked "Enable Wake on LAN (WOL)" in TOS Control Panel > Hardware & Power > Power and logged into the device.
- The Wake on LAN function has been integrated with the access history function. After logging in, you can wake up the device with one click according to the enabled status of WOL (Wake on LAN).
- After starting the Wake on LAN function, the device will be woken up within 5 minutes. If the device is not successfully woken up, please check:
· Confirm that the TNAS device's power supply is normal;
· Whether the TNAS device is in the same network segment as the computer;
· Confirm that the network connection is normal and ensure that the settings of network devices (such as routers) are correct;
· Confirm whether the TNAS device has enabled Wake on LAN;
· After confirming that all the above are normal, please try to refresh the TNAS device list.
Why Can I Find My Device But Cannot Log In?
If your device is detected but you still receive a "Username or Password Error" prompt after entering the correct username and password, please first confirm whether the NAS's IP address is in the same network segment as your computer.
- If the IP address is not in the same network segment, it is recommended to use the Modify IP function in the application to modify the NAS's IP address before logging in. Our application will automatically recommend an available IP address that is in the same network segment as the computer. After completing this modification, you should be able to access the NAS device normally.
- If there is no problem with the IP address but it still prompts "Username or Password Error", please confirm whether the username and password are correct.
- When the system is in a blocked state, it may also affect the client's login. If login fails and prompts "Username or Password Error", please try multiple times or wait for a period of time before logging in.
Although the computer and NAS are located in the same LAN, because their IP addresses are set in different network segments, for example, the computer's IP is 192.168.8.6 , and the NAS's IP is 168.254.254.68 , they cannot communicate directly. This will cause you to fail when trying to log in to the device.
How to Quickly Map Network Drives
To facilitate your quick access to NAS resources through Windows Explorer, the application's user interface has a "Network Drive" function, allowing you to quickly map network drives.
TerraSync Server
You can manage and view all remote TerraSync servers connected to the current TNAS PC client application. You will be able to view the IP address of the remote TerraSync server, the number of tasks, and the connection status between the local computer and the remote TerraSync server.
For detailed operation steps, you can refer to TerraSync
TerraSync Tasks
You can manage and view all synchronization tasks established by the current TNAS PC client application. You will be able to view the synchronization task list under each TerraSync server, including task name, synchronization direction, whether on-demand synchronization is enabled, local synchronization directory, remote synchronization directory, and the synchronization status of the task.
Settings
General Settings: Display the application's name, developer, version information, etc., and update the application through "Find Available Updates". More Devices: Set whether the application starts automatically when the computer boots up. TerraSync Settings: Manage and view "Reconnection Policy" and "File Conflict Policy".
- Keep the Latest Modified Version: When a file conflict occurs between the server and the client application, the latest file (the file with the latest modification time) will be retained. If the local file in the client application is the latest file, the file on the server will become a historical version. If the file on the server is the latest file, the local file will be discarded, but you can choose the option to Rename to Keep the Discarded Version.
- Keep the Version on the Server: When a file conflict occurs between the server and the client application, the file on the server will always be retained, and the local version will be discarded. You can choose the option to Rename to Keep the Discarded Version.
You can easily obtain the latest version information by checking the filter symbol in the version column. When it shows "Available Updates Found", simply click on this text prompt to directly download the latest version installation package.
