Version: TOS 6

FTP

TOS has its own PAM authentication. When a user attempts to access TNAS via FTP and consecutively enters the wrong password three times, the system will block the FTP and AFP protocols for two minutes. After that, the user can regain access to FTP and AFP protocols.

The method of using FTP file service

Method 1:
To access TNAS device's shared folders, enter ftp://IP in the file manager or browser address bar on your computer (e.g., ftp://10.18.8.150). Replace IP with the actual IP address of your TNAS. If required, enter the username and password to authenticate and access the shared folders.

Method 2:
Please install an FTP client on your computer and use it for file transfers.

Note

Due to the differences in various versions of Windows, compatibility issues and garbled characters may arise. It is recommended to use Method 2 for file transfers.

Considerations for remote FTP access to TNAS

Please enable the router TCP port forwarding for the router connected to TNAS. The interfaces to be forwarded are the default control connection 21 and the passive data connection 55536-56569.
